This month has certainly sucked

I just need to vent.

Back in July, I started working night crew at a local supermarket.
I like the job, I don't have to deal with the customers for more than 2 hours.

But, in the past month, three Masons I'm friends with died. One guy was as close as a brother to me. When his son committed suicide, he called me before he called some of his relatives.

Last week, my little brother died. 43 years old. Heart attack in his sleep.
Left behind a wife and two teens, one of whom has autism.

I got in the car this morning to go home, and what song is on the radio?
"Knockin' on Heavens Door" from Warren Zevon.
I just fucking lost it.

The funeral is on my sisters wedding anniversary, and the memorial service is on my 25th anniversary. And he died on my grandmothers birthday.

Shit like this runs in families, and for a few days there, I was afraid to go to sleep.
My sister is driving down to Florida for the funeral.

I don't have enough time in the job for union protection, but the grocery manager told me to take whatever time I need. (And considering I took a week off after only a month there to drive out to Chicago, I don't want to take the chance.) I don't think I could do the drive to Florida, not with her, her kids, her husband and a friend of hers. It's bad enough I'm going to have to deal with relatives I haven't seen in almost 20 years, not to mention our "Mother"...
