Pacific Rim: Transformers VS Godzilla and friends!

Saw it yesterday and enjoyed it for what it is, a good summer film. The plot is a bit simple but not unlike Star Wars was when it premiered. I plan to take my grandkids to see it next week when I get home, because the special effects and plot are video game like, there is no overt sex or extreme violence and limited harsh language.

Snap!

I especially liked the fact it gave the impression of a global attack.
And we did not have to sit through New York being destroyed again.

Of course there were plot holes, but it was big and brash and LOUD and didn't actually care.
Nice to see Burn Gorman, even if he seemed to be doing a Lee Evans impression.
And Idris Alba of course.

I also liked the fact that there were no civilian casualities.
You can relax a little once you know people are (relatively) safe having been evacuated or in shelters. Then you can enjoy wholesale destruction.

Couldn't help feeling for the Kaiju sometimes though.
They lived and breathed after all. I kept thinking of the cat that's colonised our garden and how Mum & Dad spray him with water. OW! I thought, would they do that to Jester if they could?

SonofV gave it a Perhaps he'll watch it again if we go together. It looks good from the trailers I've seen.
