this girl is amazing
For your guitar aficionados out there, you must check out Kaki King (if you haven't heard of her already). Simply amazing.

That's reeeeealy unusual guitar technique. Really cool sound, but I'm not sure I could listen to a whole album of it.

That's really cool. Too bad she had someting on her lip there when they filmed the video.

I just downloaded her latest album off iTunes. It's great stuff - I really recommended getting at least a few tracks. I'll post names when I get a chance.
Turns out she lives here in NYC and is friends with one of my buddies. Apparently she's under 5 feet tall .. |

Call it a male dominance complex or something, but I dunno if I could handle a relationship with a girl who absolutely rules me in something that I consider myself pretty good at. |

Oookay, so I went to the Knitting Factory tonight to watch Kaki King perform. UNBELIEVABLE. She blew the whole crowd away.
Admittedly what I did not like about the show is that she's not very structured. She wanders in and out of songs, and often you cannot tell if she's just playing around or churning out a song (unless you're familiar with her CDs, which I most decidedly am). On the other hand, she is amazingly cute, and she did not have that *thing* on/in/through her lip, which was worlds better than she looked in those sample clips on the Web site. Spectacular watching her do her thing in person. Folks, I am in love. |

There is another guitarist, Justin King (ironically) who has a similar style and also kicks a thorough amount of guitar booty. He is also a regular of the Knitting Factory - except in Los Angeles. Of no relation, to my understanding. www.justinking.com |

I listened to the audio clips on the site and wateched the video clips.
What she does is amazing, but I don't care for the ...I'm not sure how to describe it effectively... non structure... chaos .. of it. There's no doubt she's talented, tho.
