Oh Brother, Where Art Thou??

Paging Big V, paging Mr V, anybody seen the V?

On a normal time line, if BigV hasn't found another job by now, he's probably pretty depressed, embarrassed & fearful. Putting blame in the wrong places and withdrawing in general. I've seen it often....hell, I've done it.

Anyone that can contact him directly, please, please do. Even if he is listless or unresponsive, keep up the line of communication, it's so important that he doesn't withdraw.

Try to get him back on the board, we can help. Hell, I'll buy him a damn goat.

He's been here just not posting. This has been a crappy week for posting. I popped him a pm to see what's up.

IIRC UT posted a week or so ago that he'd gone down to New Orleans (or the Katrina vicinity) to volunteer.

That was awhile ago that he went down there. He'd returned and then lost his job since then. If anyone has his email or snail mail addy, please pm me.

Well, according to the Member List, somebody has logged in under his account in the last day.

I bet he's just trying to make a clean break of it. He said that he gave his last job away, and I think part of that was probably spending so much time on the Cellar at work. He might be trying to focus all his energy on his job search, or on a new job, if he has one.

But I miss him too, and hope he's doing well.

There was a CompuServe forum I left cold turkey one day. I liked everyone there, but it became somehow embarrassing that I couldn't spend as much time with them, and every time I went to say "hey guys I still like you but can't spend as much time with you", there was something that made me stop.

Just a guess, based upon previous pms from BigV, he is tending to things in his other life. I can imagine it must be very hard to find time to get to the cellar unless you are at work. I hardly have time to get here lately and I don't have a quest.

I know he appreciates our support, even if he isn't posting.

My God. You guys *live* the theme to Cheers, you know that? And insightful as hell!

xoB -- bullseye

Griff -- true

glatt -- correct on the focus observation

3ft -- you read my mind. scary. in a good way.

I have missed *ALL* of you. I did break away to change my focus to The Quest-. I coincidentally had a bit of structure upon which to hang my pledge to myself: I gave up the cellar for Lent. It was a sacrifice. I did suffer (some). I did keep my promise--I only peeked in on one Sunday (a feast day, and not subject to the Lenten restrictions), and did not login or lurk until this week. I did have a chance to focus on the job thang. Working in mysterious ways and all that.

But this thread is very flattering and heartwarming to me and I thank you all for your genuine concern.
