More Public Intolerance - except of Torture
We must fear what Jimmy Kimmel or Howard Stern might say. Now we fear what happened to Spc Sean Baker?
The Army's first response to Spc. Sean Baker's injuries during training for Guantanamo training exercise was that injuries were not related to that training exercise. However the injuries were so great that "he suffered a traumatic brain injury" - a quote from the ArmyTimes.com . As a result of those injuries, Baker was discharged in April which puts those injuries right about the time that US military was being Gitmoized to torture Iraqi prisioners - Jan 2003. Not Jan 2004. One year earlier - Jan 2003: Former MP was hurt during Gitmo training last year Army now admits that those injuries are directly traceable to training exercises where four prison guards were beating an uncooperative Iraqi - played by Baker. How could this be? The Army was not teaching soldiers to torture - right from Rumsfeld's own lips. According to Rumsfeld, Abu Ghraib was a isolated event by a few rogue soldiers. Soldiers must all be lying when they were ordered to torture. In the meantime, Rush Limbaugh says it really was not torture - as if Rush is any more honest than George Jr. Baker was in Guantanamo training MPs who would be later assigned to Iraq. Clearly the administration would not be lying to Americans. Only people like Kimmel and Stern are so immoral as to openly lie. A religious right extremist president would not violate God's own commandment - Thou shalt not lie. If George Jr and his administration says torture was not authorized, then Baker must be lying about his tramatic brain injury. Now let's see what Sean Baker says happened: Former Soldier Disputes Army Denials That He Was Beaten During Training Exercises In Cuba Let us not forget that this administration lied about weapons of mass destruction, took delight in destroying the Oslo Accords (because it was Clinton) as the Norwegian Foreign Minister predicted, even advocated attacking India, Germany, or Russia only to keep America #1 (basic paper that defined Project for a New American Century); the new foreign policy called preemption, and also will not admit they openly endorsed torture. So endorsed was torture even in Jan 2003 that MPs being trained for Iraqi prision duty caused tramatic brain injury to Sean Baker. So involved in the torture to their prisoner as to even ignore the 'safe word'. Where is the best place to teach MPs how to torture? Guantanamo. Where is the best place to train torture so that the press will not learn of it and the courts cannot ban it? Guantanamo. The Army will not publically release Baker's medical records unless he gives permission. But the Army will not even let Sean Baker have his own medical records. Sounds just like a what happens when god tells a mental midget president how to think. Screw the Army soldier. More important is that we must not learn of how high up the orders for torture came. God knows when it is best to release those records. After all, this president and his administration would not lie about torture. 97% of the religious riight extremists voted for him. Those are god's choosen people. God's will is that we really don't learn why Spc Baker suffered massive brain trauma. Widespread Iraqi torture is consistent with religious intolerance by this president. Same reason created the Spanish Inquisition. Religion - not facts - is how both decisons and torture are justified. Nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition. That is only a joke on Monty Python. But then previous presidents did not use moral and religious reasons to justify their actions. Previous presidents made decisions from facts and reality. Once upon a time, the US President was learned and honest. He first studied facts to make decisions. When warnings of an Al Qaeda attack appeared on his desk, then once upon a time, the president responded to prevent those attacks. Once upon a time, that response stopped multiple attacks all over the world. But then once upon a time, the president was also honest. At what point do you concede that 'evil' (per George Jr's definition) lies in this president. He even condoned torture and lies so that he need not admit it. Spc Sean Baker's story only confirms what so many other stories indicate. Intolerance of Kimmel, et al is acceptable because they are not god's choosen speakers. But tolerance of torture? Spanish Inquistion was also justified by religious beliefs - not by logic. Screw Spc Baker. His story only exposes the reality and lies about Iraq and this presidents agenda. Good thing we didn't cut anybody's head off!
Unfortunately, this does not seem out of the realm of possibility. If we have, we've got some good, sound legal reasoning behind it. (that was sarcasm) |
