Domino muthaphucka!

Yesterday, I had a CD craving, so I headed over to Tower Records to pick up a few (after first going to Best Buy and finding none of the 3 CDs I wanted).

As I come down the escalator to the music portion of the store, I see a display with the new Seal CD--one of the CDs I'm planning on buying. So, I head over to the display, and notice that they have a vinyl version of the CD on the top shelf. You don't see vinyl much anymore, so I picked one up to look at it.

After I picked it up, several CDs on the top shelf began to fall. Then several CDs on the shelf below began to fall, then the entire shelf below that one gave way. Before you know it, CDs are dropping to the floor and I'm desperately trying to hold one of the middle shelves up to prevent the whole display from falling apart.

No one apparently noticed the mess I was making until I looked towards the counter and yelled, "Uh...excuse me!" Two people quickly ran over...one of them said, "You can go ahead and let 'em fall. This has already happened once today." So, I let go and there went most of the CDs. I'm not sure if the display was new or what, but the employees told me they had tried to glue the shelves to the display earlier, but the glue didn't hold.

At first, I felt bad, b/c I thought it was my fault. Then I was kinda embarrassed, though no one apparently noticed the destruction until I said something. But overall, it was funny. No one got hurt, no merchandise got damaged, and I got 3 great CDs for $37 plus tax.

Now, when I become a dirty ol' man like my hero Bruce, I can brag to my nieces and nephews about how I destroyed a Tower Records in Philadelphia back in 2003...
