I know most of Dellars are too young to be interested in this, but here it be.
From this web site http://www.ssa.gov/pressoffice/pr/2006cola-pr.htm We'll get a 4.1 increase based on this.
Social Security and Supplemental Security Income benefits increase automatically each year based on the rise in the Bureau of Labor Statisticsâ€™ Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W), from the third quarter of the prior year to the corresponding period of the current year. This year's increase in the CPI-W was 4.1 percent.

I don't know about Urban wage earners? But looking at http://www.ajb.org/ and doing a job search for pipe fitters, It seems to me that wages have been flat or gone down since I got out of job market about 13 years ago.

Anyway out of the increase I get 44.69. Medicare went up $10.30.

My mother mentioned on Sunday she was getting a raise in SS. I asked her how much the medicare was going up and she hadn't heard yet.

Methinks the raise won't cover gas to the doctor's office.

I am 50 yo, so I have to plan for being means-tested out of SS. $520 / month SS withholding for nothing.
