Paragould Arkansas

well tomorrow i'm going wheels up around 2 and landing in Zippyt's hometown of Paragould Arkansas in search of either dove or that lass that he shot a picture of Here anyway i'm sure that much beer will be consumed and many lies will be told. then the next week if he can swing it from work, he'll be driving down with his professional camping truck to chase texas dove 60 miles south of austin! should be fun weekends!

Well I sure hope you find them there, 'cause they sure ain't here. Opening day came and went Sept 1st, and it was the first time in years I wasn't out in the field. The birds weren't where they were 'sposed to be, meanwhile, my brand new Bennelli grows mold in the garage. Good luck boys! Take some pics and bring back some stories so I can live vicariously through you.

Here is Surprise, AZ (Phoenix essentially). We usually go to a place called Robins Butte for the dove, it's way west of Phoenix close to Gila Bend. There were some grain fields that some old man used to maintain and they would bring the birds in by the droves. Once he dided, the fields were taken over by AZ Mame and Squish (AZ Game and Fish) and they went to pot. Birds disapeared. Two years ago, we discovered an area where we used to go duck hunting in the winter when the river was running. We were up to our armpits in dove. The next year, the farmers closed off the fields claiming there were exclusive to the local hunting club now.

I haven't shot a dove in two years now. Here hoping for duck season. Gotta get me some birds.
