Man, is it just me or is fuckedcompany really really busier these days? It's kind of scary. Is there any explanation besides the gloom and doom condition of the industry? (Or could there be some other slightly mitigating factors, like people being quicker/more likely to report 'fucks' as the site gets more well known?)

Well, look at what it is.

It's turned from being one of the better sites out there to find out information on who is doing what, and what CEOs are dimwits, to a site that has the following:

Outright trolling and racism
People who fall for trolls
Microsofties
Outright ass people

I tend to stay away from most of it, since it seems to be nothing more than schoolkids who think because the site has the f word in the name that its cool, and a lot of ex-dotcom people who have serious mental issues.
It's busier because people bite the trollbait.
Well, that all applies to the conversations that follow a post, but I believe the posts themselves are heavily moderated, a handpicked selection from a larger number of "tips" that are received-- the question is, why are there so many threads *started*

Well, there is at least one other way of explaining: the economic / job situation is just getting worse and worse and we're all screwed.

I don't think that's definitely the case, I think some companies that had a bit of reserve fat are a bit slower to have issues.

The correct analysis is probably the mix: yes, the situation is pretty bad, yes, people are more aware of FC to want to post rumors to, and yes, some slower companies are only now responding to the situation.

No, it's the community they created :)

They've aggregated together a lot of pissed-off people in their online community. FC is the gathering point for a lot of fat, lazy, and stupid geeks to get together and complain about everything in life.

They are getting together and essentially having one gigantic flamewar. It's attracting people to their message boards, which are very large.

It's like USENET Without Brains. I wait for the day Kibo comes in there and shows them how idiotic they really are.
