Is it just me, or does the foremost guy look like the Governator?

I was also going to say that it had a look similar to soviet propaganda posters.

Scariness aside, there is another level of scariness that has to do with the vulnerability of our commuter rail system. I haven't ridden Amtrak in quite a while, so I don't know if there is any better security for passenger rail, which I used to regard as a safer mode of transportation, after all, you can't hijack a train, and they seem to derail less often than planes fall out of the sky.

If anyone has a question about what I mean by vulnerable, there are some decent documentaries on the Aum Shinryko Sarin attacks in Japan. It would appear to be very easy to deploy a C-BRNE weapon on a commuter train.

Yeah, but you can do that poison gas shit anywhere. A crowded supermarket on the weekend has as many people in it as a train car. There are tens of thousands of similar targets around the country. You can't protect them all.

I hear the subways in Moscow are simply gorgeous, and used to be really safe. Now without KGB, you do risk the occasional bombing. Not sure what the best approach is.

Any definitive word on whether it's legit? The comments in the link seemed noncommittal, at least until the end.

There are more holes in US security than anyone is talking about:
~5% of all shipping containers (the big, standardized metal ones that everything is moved around the globe in these days) that come into American ports are checked.
Passenger vessels are almost never checked. In fact, if you were to impersonate a well-known private motor yacht captain, all you have to do is hail the Coast Guard and just tell them where you are.
And as far as targets are concerned...hit a NASCAR race or one of the big wrestling events (some of which have 80,000+ people in one building).
But...and if I can find it I'll post a link...al Qaeda has actively turned away from attacking the US directly for a while. They're going after our allies like the UK and Spain to peel them away from us. Then they'll start attacking us directly again. For now, the current administration is doing all their work for them.

An attack on a NASCAR race or wrestling match could be devestating. What would become of us as a nation without hairdressers, auto mechanics, and plumbers?

you'd wipe out a pretty sizeable contingent of militia, as well

then we'd have to rely on the regular military

Nah. Those are only the fluff guys, with the beerguts hanging over their camo.

The real guys don't watch NASCAR. I can't tell you anything more than that.

shhh.........dont' say too much.
it is pretty easy to de-rail a commuter train and kill a few people - happened here in L.A. not too long ago. Just park your SUV on the tracks, douse it in gas, and walk away. (Failed suicide attempt, supposedly.)
