Urinal Marketing

Nature calling? Its advertising, too.

Wizmark, the interactive urinal advertisement!

"Wizmark is based on one unwritten rule; when using a urinal, never stare at the person next to you. Every male knows that when he is using a urinal, he can look anyway he wants, except left or right. realizing this unwritten code, the appeal of the concept is that it's assures your ad will effectively reach the elusive male audience."

"...Wizmark can talk, sing, or even flash promotional messages..."

`zactly I carry a pocketknife. Far as I`m concerned removing unwanted advertising is my civic duty.

I`m an industious soul. I`m not alone either. It took a while but they eventully gave up on pretty much all the billboards in my old suburb, now they`re covered in stencil art.

What particularly shits me is stuff they`re not paying for, posters on public space and sprayed on logos, I can`t walk past those without whipping out the knife and making the world a marginally better place.

Don`t bitch about it, get out a knife, spraycan or paintbomb and make the fact you don`t like your environment and by extension your mental environment bombarded 24/7.

Do you have the dicks who make a little pocket out of paper, stuff it full of cards with advertising on them and stick em up on fucking *everything*? Those really irk me. And the people who stick advertising (or tracts, even worse) on your car while you're shopping really fucking burn me. Wish I could catch one in the act.

Herbalife bastards and "WORK AT HOME" scum leave brightly colored papers everywhere. I destroy them.

I call that "littering" and I wish someone would hold some of these people responsible for cluttering up the world with it. Everyday I come home to find a Chinese menu tacked to my doorknob. On Fridays, its a pizza menu.

I found the concept of a urine-activated voice advertising to me a little creepy.

People pissing on the speaker should prove a solution to these things.

The cars and cards thing... such advertising is unlicensed and if you caught someone you could prosecute them for polluting public space. You wouldn't win, but you must protest!

The most effective way to eliminate unwanted advertising is not to buy the products, ever. Buy unbranded, organic, natural stuff that is not mass-marketed and while a gigantic advertising onslaught may follow to recapture some customers they will give up in the end, because advertising is always the first thing to go in a budget. They'd rather spend it on logistics, or lining their own pockets.

Hate to say it but spraying/knifing doesn't really help because they will just put it down to mindless vandals and replace the ads, and you've wasted paper/ink/aerosol/time. If you are going to deface things at least write something symbolic like 'I was born on Madison Avenue' so they get the message.
