M.C. Escher came up with the original drawings in Zippy's post. It looks like someone stole them and wrote labels. Not to say that it's not a cool post, just credit where credit is due. Escher is really awesome when it comes to optocal illusions.

"Stole" is a little harsh

Escher is pretty popular in engineering circles. Some engineer just took some classic impossible figures and arranged them as a schematic, as a joke.

I seem to recall, when Omni Magazine was new and cool, before the UFO nuts took over, they ran pictures of someone who built the "impossible box" from Escher's Belvedere.

Of course they cheated it. The construction was not possible, but the way it was photographed made it look like it was.

(Oh, and while I was looking for this particular image, I came across another fondly remembered site ... Escher in Lego.)

Movement where there is none

This will make your head hurt. Scroll down to "Tubes" and move your head toward and away from the monitor while staring at the center.

Headache!
