A pointless but nevertheless satisfying triumph

After two days of tweaking settings, switching from an AHA-1535A SCSI card to an AHA-2940U and 8,482 reboots, I finally seem to have gotten my Philips CDD2600 CD-recorder and MicroTek ScanMaker E6 to play nice together.

Now I can record CDs and scan pictures on my computer.

Why is this pointless? Because I put a deposit down on my new Athlon 1300 yesterday and should be picking it up on Monday.

I'm not tossing out the old one and doesn't have a USB scanner for the new one yet, so I suppose this could be of some benefit...

jeff. still deciding on a monitor, and working on the best way to transfer files from the old to the new without cannibalizing the old one's HD...

For transfer, either just put the old HD in the new box, and copy stuff accross (i assume the new one comes with an OS installed, if not jsut boot off a boot disk/cd) or use a pro program like driveimage.

What are you looking at moniter wise?
Spend as much as you can afford on a moniter, you'll appreciate it latewr and you relaly do pay for what you get.
