Mo Money

I was reading about the new US $100 bills which arrive tomorrow, Oct 8th, 2013. It's the usual details that put most people to sleep, but give counterfeiters nightmares and security wonks a woodie. You know intaglio printing, color shifting ink, micro-printing, blah, blah, blah.

Just as I was about to nod off, look what I found.

...............

Hmmm, they are marking all the $100 printed in Texas.
When I read that the first thing that came to mind was Hawaiian Money!

If you're not familiar with Hawaiian money...
Quote:
A Hawaii overprint note is one of a series of banknotes (one Silver Certificate and three Federal Reserve Notes) issued during World War II as an emergency issue after the attack on Pearl Harbor. The intent of the overprints was to easily distinguish US currency captured by Japanese forces in the event of an invasion of Hawaii and render the bills useless.
Are the swarthy folk threatening Texas?
Non-English speakers?
Right wing Americans?

The FW bills will be demonetized if Texas secedes from the union. There's been talk you know.

What is weirder (to me, being me-centric) is that I dreamed I found a billfold of American money last night.

It was held together with a silver clip, which I think came from a Stephen King novel (never seen one over here and I've known some pretty shady guys who carried lots of cash!) And it seemed okay to pick it up and take it, as it was just discarded, but then I realised that what I'd thought were $1 and $5 dollar bills were $100s. It worked out $950 and instead of immediately thinking of turning it in, I tried to work out how many places exchanged money in Aylesbury and how many small transaactions I could change it into.

Oh and I've just worked out what that is all about. It's about being short of money and wondering if there was any chance of asking Dwellars for money and the guilt I felt.

So anyway, thanks for being my therapy.

We had a trainer here the other day, who swore that the reason they started putting metal strips in bills is so if you have a large amount of cash 'they' can detect it remotely.
