Readers of John Irving will recognize the motif (although Irving prefers the bicycling bear), but nevertheless here is an actual skating bear. Pretty remarkable.

its still cruel as all hell. im' no friend of PETA but i beleive in animal rights.

I'd say that that all depends on what they went through to teach the bear to do that. I have seen some animals that actually enjoy their tricks, but I have seen some that have been practically starved as part of their "training."

Yes i agree lisa, they used to teach dancing bears by making the m stand on red hot metal plates. My point is as much as that, that many of these animals are quite rare inthe wild, and frankly, we can find lesscruel form of entertainment before we lose another species?

In an exclusive interview, the bear indicated that "Skating is good, but I'd really prefer inlines. Also this dress has GOT to go".
