I got Krispy Kremes!!!

WHOOOHOOOOOO!!!

I GOT KRISPY KREMES! REAL KRISPY KREMES FROM THE KRISPY KREME STORE!!!

Rho had to go out this afternoon, so I asked her to swing by Krispy Kreme to see how the line was. Just a short time ago, she walked in the door...with 2 dozen fresh Krispy Kreme donuts!!!

Excuse me while I faint...*sycamore starts to drool, begins to speak incoherently*

I haven't eaten a donut in months.

And honestly, I don't miss it much. I'm probably down 30 pounds, and I feel pretty damn good. Even so, ball crunches (60 on my "lower body workout" days) still burn like a mother fucker. They're done in such a way that the muscle can't possibly relax until you're done... and they burn just holding still... pulling up is good fun!

That having been said... Krispy Kreme donuts, still hot, are damn good, especially with some milk to wash 'em down.

Okay, so I have had a few KK's...fantastic. The real deal is so much better than store-bought.

The glazed are of course, da bomb. Nice soft dough...it melts in your mouth like little slices of heaven. The glazing was oh so perfect...and of course, the taste is from another world.

Really, I'm fine.

At the monthly meeting of our amateur radio club, the refreshments were KKs; our membership is scattered all over the metro area and somebody was tasked to bring a few dozen.

They're as good as I remeber them, and the glazed are indeed the platonic ideal glazed donut. Anything that isn't sugar, is fat. Ambrosia.... :-)

I'm glad they're far enough away to have only once in a while; I wouldn't want to have them available too close-by.

Maggie, I'd be leary of being part of a group with the initials PMRC.

Truth be told, I can only eat stuff like KK's so often. They are incredibly good, but also incredibly sweet...and bad for you.

Moderation T...everything in moderation...must...not...eat...them...all...

Yeah, I know. :-) But they are actually a cool bunch of prople for the most part. Our spies tell us that there were apparently one or two who were Vocally Unhappy with our original application for memberhip...although they had the grace to voice thier opposition only at the Board of Directors meeting where our application was considered (usually a rubber-stamp process). But a bunch of people stood up for us, and now I'm the editor of their newsletter and about to serve on the Board of Directors myself...I certainly can't complain.

Speaking of the Northeast: Now that the Franklin Institute Science Museum has pretty much completed it's transformation from educational institution to indoor theme park, the club's W3AA public ham radio station (which originally held the callsign W3TKQ) has been evicted and ceased operation at the Institute, ending a fifty-year tradition. I'm now able to annouce (to anybody who cares) that we expect W3AA will be resuming operations soon at Northeast High School

Well, the Krispy Kremes are now gone...they were sweet and delicious and fun while they lasted. I'll miss them tremendously, but we'll meet and eat again someday.

Incidentally, the Krispy Kreme store is right down the street from Northeast High School.

mmmph! *mouth full of donut*

And just when I thought I was done with the KK's for a bit...in comes one of my coworkers with 3 dozen KK's to share. She lives right near the store.

My abstinence on KK's lasted 16 days. Stopped by KK on the way home from the Main Post Office this afternoon. They will be delicious for breakfast for the next few days.
