Streaming with Wii
Recently the "internet channel" on Wii became available for free. It is a stripped-down version of the Opera browser. It is quite limited on what it can do. It doesn't support Hulu or Pandora. But I have found a way to stream files that you have on your own machine.
Go to mycast.orb.com and download this free client that runs on your host machine (where your files are stored). It may take a while for the client to index your files, depending on the size/amount. Next, from your Wii internet channel, go to mycast.orb.com, login and and instantly stream your files! That is all...it is a very simple setup. Also, the client can be set to run as a service on your host machine (you don't need a user account to be logged in). Did I mention, it's free?
