10/20/2002: Cranberry harvest
Sunday is always a lazy day for IotD, and for Undertoad in general. The backlog of stuff I have ready for posting is pretty good right now; there is a week worth of pics. And this might be the simplest, the "least strange". But there's something appealing about it. The gently rounded shape, the color, it's something that would be very nice in a larger format. These are cranberries being harvested from the bogs. Supposedly they have a record crop in Wisconsin, which is where this shot was taken. |

New Jersey and Oregon also have large cranberry crops.

This image reminds me of the work of artist Andy Goldsworthy. He uses the environment, rocks, ice, snow, leaves, to create temporary coolness that he documents with photos. This one is iris blades and rowan berries.
