Poor people are fat, rich people are skinny.

Smart people are stupid. The song "The Final Countdown" is now playing in your head.

People keep saying that, but I question whether the math has been done. Can you imagine having a $500 a month food budget--PER PERSON??? That is what just under $6 per meal comes to.

But, not unlike a post-McDonalds purge, it's easier to just regurgitate such statements.

The food may be less, but the mortgage and the stove add up.

Well when they started the $1 and $3 meals or whatever they were, I think that is when people really started to take notice. If you had a $3 meal 2 times a day for 30 days that only comes out to $180 a month. I can't eat there and have not for quite a few years now. I just refuse.

McDonalds is my fast food joint of choice because I love the fact that I can eat pretty healthily there nowadays. A chicken snack wrap and a fruit and walnut with an unsweetened iced tea work great for me.

Dunno what you get for $3, but you'd need more than 2 of them a day.

I also refuse Maccas and Jacks (what we call burger King). Just say no.

Isn't it the other way round? Hungry Jacks here and Burger King there?
