Tattoo
Are we into body art? I don't have any tattoos, but my son just got a big one on his arm. He's 24, married, and the tatto is his wife's name. She got a matching tat of his name. Shades of Angelina and Billy Bob, I know. I hope their marriage lasts as long as the tattoos! |

I worked with a guy that never got a wedding ring when he got married -- they just exchanged tattoos. She put his on her arm and hers in his arm.
I always thought it was funny that he'd been married 6 times before I knew him. Since he wasn't Mormon, he'd also been divorced several times, and each of the names had a line through it. |

Are you serious? If so, why in god's name didn't he stop the practice after the 2nd or 3rd divorce??

The best approach would have been to find another woman with the same first name every time.

He was a funny guy, though. Dwayne was his name if I recall. After he got fired, he started a limo service company, basically just renting the car from another guy for a night, and charging just over what it cost him. I happened to see him out and about one of those nights after he started driving, and asked him about the names on his arms. His explanation was that "it's cheaper than a ring." Good thinking, Dwayne. |

never ever ever ever ever. get anyone's name tattooed on you, unless they are your child or close family member. i, for instance, have an R on my ankle; that stands for Rebecca, which is my mom's name. and i'd do the same for my dad or my brother.
of course there are exceptions, but a lot of tattoo artists suggest that you should get them done in red or green so they can be made into flowers in the event that the two people break up. tattoos are neat. |

jesus, PLEASE make sure you get an experienced artist to do a tattoo of any writing that is foreign to you. kanji is very easy to mess up - if they make one small mistake, it can mean something really different than what you intended. i don't think i could find anything in chinese that would be worth it to me. i don't trust anyone that much.
tattoos are really addictive, though, jag. be prepared to either get more, or fight temptation. |

I will pay cash money to anyone who changes jag's tat to mean something else without his knowing.
The crueler the character, the greater the rewards. I've always been afraid to have a foreign character inked onto my skin because I heard tell (urban legend?) of a tattoo artist who was stiffed and changed the tat to mean "asshole" or something like that. Brian

His next three girlfriends were all called Sue too.... |

9.11 Tattoos
Members of the Cannizzaro family pose with their tattoos honoring Brian Cannizzaro, a New York City firefighter who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Brian's brother Craig and his father Sam, show their gladiator tattoos. (AP Photo/Suzanne Plunkett) These are just a couple of examples of many people who have used tattoos to memorialize family members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. |
