Steely Dan Concert

Meh. I guess my expectations were too high. I wasn't completely blown away, so I left feeling disappointed.

Keith Carlock was a monster on the drumset, but everything seemed to drag. Maybe it was bad acoustics.

The set seemed like a compromise. My friends were disappointed that they didn't play more hits (they didn't do Deacon Blues), and I was disappointed that they didn't play more "jam" songs (they didn't do Green Earrings). So...what the hell did they play?

I think they were counting on a sense of "nostalgia" that the audience full of old fogeys were supposed to be feeling. I don't know.

They weren't lacking in talent, it just wasn't a very good set.

I could have stayed home and listened to Alive in America (concert performances from 1993–1994).

Sorry to hear that Flint, you know I'm a big fan, too.

Did they do Black Cow or Bodhisattva? Was it like the local "rock" station who thinks the only hit they ever had was Reelin' in the Years (my least favorite)?
