Hmmm...religious education in school. Interesting. It is elective though, so I guess that means you can elect to ignore it as a subject. Don't people have a right to choose what they should be educated about in school?

Nope, not when it is indoctrination. Very different than a course that just states "this is what this religion believes".
This states, "this is right, good, and what you should believe". |

Well according to the article, it's designed to help/teach students to learn the links between the bible and US laws. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe it'll open up some eyes in ways that you don't seem to credit could happen.
Again, it's an elective subject. That means not all or even any students are forced to take the subject. That means students get to excercise their right to take or not take the class.

There are no links.

The separation of church and state is clear and should never be breached. If someone wants to teach their kid religion they need to pay to send their kid to a religious school to have them indoctrinated with their fantasy. |

In Australia kids can go to religious education during school hours once a week for about an hour. It's elective and kids don't have to go unless their parents say so.
Religion is a part of society. Why do you think it's so hard to separate the state from the church?
