3/10 Extra: Freehand Mountain - Big

Isn't this a lovely moutain? What a nice picture, right?

No. This was painted by Seung Ho Henrik Holmberg. And not just "painted". Painted on his computer. With a Wacom tablet and Photoshop 5.5. Nothing there is real.

I got this off a link from Galadriel's page. Her caption was "here's something to make you feel inadequate." Indeed.

He could win every single one of Fark's Photoshop articles

I just want to clarify one thing so as to not feel ugh, so inadequate. You can't just buy photoshop and a wacom tablet and draw shit as good as this guy on your computer. He obviously has a good background in drawing, art and design. And if he doesn't already, he could easily work in any ad firm or film studio.

His conceptual design pitures remind me of doug chaing's design work. I have a hard time believing that seungho's still life of bottles was all done by hand without a 3D program, but everything else looks so impressive I have to.

Thing is, he's only like 21. I must say, DAMN!

Yeah, the bottles one is absolutely stunning. It looks like it was rendered, but one can't take credit away from him like that - he hand-painted that with a Wacom and Photoshop.

Now, I was planning on getting a Wacom anyway, but I was just gonna futz around. Now I have a goal - to make something that's at least 1/100th as impressive as one of his drawings. I figure that would be a good lifetime achievement

Looks like Sahm

This reminds me of the art of Hans-Werner Sahm..

Definitely an awesome Photoshop picture. One thing though and it seems kind of silly, did he actually miss drawing a shadow?

You can see part of a shadow of one of the two oval-ish looking things at the top of the crater. But, you can't see a shadow for the platform just below these two things.

This just sticks out to me as being a really obvious deletion.

cool

For some reason the more I look at that snowy mountain image, the more I expect to see some storm troopers march out on that landing pad.

I think the shadow is there, you just don't see much of it. It's to the left of the platform, appearing as the flat bottom edge of the sunny area you see there.
At least, that's what I see.
