squatters

ok.. to start this thread I should explain that mrs. and I live in a small village about 15km. to the east of Geneva... a nice quiet, know all your neighbours type of place.

About two months ago one of our two restaurants closed it's doors...as we understand the owners are in midst of divorce or some other nasty business.

Last night mrs. and I walked past the place and noticed a sign on the door that read :

"Les Personnes, morale [business name] et physique[named owner] associée gérante inscrite au registre du commerce, sont seuls habilités à ouvrir l'éstablissemeent
Le restaurant est mis sous surveillance et alarme

roughly translated this states only the owners and their agents can open the doors, which are watched and under alarm.

All I can think is that this is a warning to squatters .... something that we never previously had a problem with but due to a influx of a certain Eastern European presence (gypsy scum) there are alot more doors being locked and alarmed.

so anyway... how about where you guys live.... any squatters?

It might be a warning to creditors trying to reclaim money owed.

This was on our old cinema and referred to eejits trying to use it as a sort of "den" - it was never actually occupied in the sense of squatters, that's just legalise.

But very similar wording was on a shop nearby where I can only assume there were legal reasons that the owners left - there was still stock in the shop and no advanced notice of closure...

I want to know more about the gypsies.

We were just talking about the Irish sort - the Travellers - what kind do you have in Switzerland? Rominy, Irish or Other?

It's a shame you have "gypsy scum" there, where I live we have some Paki bastards and some Black shit but it's the stinking Jews that are the worst.

One of the reasons I've enjoyed being (a small) part of The Cellar is that it is one of the few places on the internet where people don't seem to tolerate such language.

I hear you, and I sympathise. But that was to do with some men being bastards rather than them being gypsies. My best friend in high-school was raped by an uncle. I do not assume all white men are rapists nor all uncles.
