Digital Camera Repair

My daughter dropped her Cannon SD850 IS Power Shot ELPH and broke the motorized lense. I will no longer close or focus. Is it worth it to send this off for repair or just buy a new one?

do you got a warranty? the accidental warranties cover (1) drop and water damage, i believe.

and that's almost the same camera i have, I got the SD870.

When we had our cannon repared it was a one price fixes all arrangement, about $90, maybe plus shipping. I'm guessing that's maybe half the cost of getting a new one, so it depends if you feel it has depreciated.

All good stuff. I just went ahead and ordered a new one. The cost has come down as most of the places are cranking out a new model every week.
