2/7/2003: Warm kittens
Happy Friday! Here in this area we've put in a half foot of snow, so this from last week's MSNBC Pic of the Week is appropriate around here. The golden shown is 8 years old and allows the cats to sleep on him for warmth. His name is Toby. Enjoy your day. |

Ah! Friday. As I type my younger dog (the Aussie) and his arch enemy continue their 6 hour standoff.

Thanks for posting this! It brought a much needed smile to my face after a rough day.

Umm... Not to spoil anyones enjoyment of the pic or anything, but... Does the cat on the left look a bit rabid to anyone else? I only ask because he appears to be foaming at the mouth.

That cat sorta looks like this one I saw on Wild Discovery tonight on the Discovery Channel. They were talking about what catnip does to cats, and this one was doing some serious drooling and foaming...had I not known what was going on, I would have thought it was rabid or something.

Heh, in that case you have to question the entire scenario. I mean what we actually have here is the after pic of animals on drugs. The Retriever is actually a dealer, just layin down with the clientel after a big sell. Thanks for clearing that up. It all makes sense now. Heaven only knows what they had to do for their nip-fix...

I had a cat when I was young, coolest cat ever. We'd leave catnip out for him and instead of going after it loke a madman, as cat's often do, he'd eat just a little. Then go look out the window or watch the humans in the living room, with his eyes all glazed over. I mean half the fun with catnip is watching the cats fall down just walking. He was smart about it, he'd eat some and mosey into wherever he wanted to be. No falling down. Damn, that cat always played everything cool...

The show also mentioned that it works on about 75% of all cats (which may help explain the reaction that whit's cat experienced). |
