Some Content Questions

All of this is pretty much addressed to Undertoad, I put it here, in a public thread, because some of us, including me, need to have these things explained. You can respond to his response, but, really, I'm beyond giving a fuck what most of the rest of you think.

Question #1: What is the general purpose of the "WTF? NSFW Thread"?

Question #2: Is there a type of content that is generally unacceptable for the "WTF? NSFW Thread"?

Question #3: In your opinion have I done something dastardly?

Question #4: If I stop being nice, how far can I go before I get banned?

Question #5: Have I misused the "WTF? NSFWThread"?

Ok, #4 was a joke (kinda). Seriously, though:

UT: I understand you might be quite busy...You may even be sick of the whole fucking subject (I know I am)...But, I would really like to hear your opinions, because right now, yours is the only one I need to hear. Your replies will have a direct impact on my actions, seeing as you are pretty much the Supreme Cellar Justice. I have my mind made up on some issues, leaning certain ways on others, and am completely undecided on yet others. I'm really looking for some direction, here. TIA.

One man-who-doesn't-give-a-shit's opinion: you are bugging the crap out of me. Go away or act normal.

It's been over three months since whatever happened, happened; and I'm sorry, but I can't remember one single bit of it, if I was ever involved at all.

I hope that honest fact helps you to put things into perspective.

The reason we have moderators is so that I don't get singled out on this shit so my opinions do not really matter. Furthermore the entire community participates in the process by simply letting their opinions be known. They are more powerful than me or all the moderators combined. They are your judge and jury, not me.

It would appear you believe some sort of incredible injustice has been done to you and it has taken three months to build to some sort of crescendo. This type of "being unable to move past" is not healthy. Injustice is a part of life, whether it happens by direct malice or simply by mistake. Many others here have been dealt much worse injustices than you have (especially in light of the fact that I actually remember what happened).

By being unable to move past, you have done yourself much, much worse harm than what happened before. The "churn" you have felt has been damaging, mentally if not physically. It makes no logical sense for this to go on. Now you have contemplated trying to hurt the community you feel has wronged you in some way? The forum must be destroyed in order to save it? You didn't get exactly your way so you threatened to start throwing feces?

Think about it, won't you? Thank you.

Grav, I didn't follow your links pointing to the injustices you feel you've endured over specific images. But if you linked to images you've posted, then they must be OK. Otherwise they would have been deleted, and you wouldn't have anything to link to.

My opinion on the WTF NSFW thread is that it's for truly WTF images. You look at the image and you can't figure out what it is or what the story behind it is. It's not really a place for the latest kinky porn someone found. Yes, there is porn out there on the web. It's not hard to find. If I want to go looking for porn, I will. I don't need or want it reposted here on the Cellar. What I want to see on the Cellar in that thread are pictures where I wonder just what the fuck is going on. The NSFW thread was created because some WTF images are not appropriate for work. The emphasis is on the WTF, not on the NSFW.

I missed this issue as it was unfolding.

Usually there are fires and rioting in the streets. Hard to miss a board war so it must not have been that big of an issue grav.

I think Gravdigr has been singled out unfairly by all of you. I think he has every right to feel bitter and unappreciated. If you would all stop picking on him for a minute, we could get down to serious business.

oh... wait... the opposite of that.

3 months? This is because of something that happened three months ago?

When the thread about offense went up, I assumed it was about something recent.

Grav, just let it go man. Seriously, just let it go. You're making it into a massive issue. So what if someone was offended by what you put? That's their right, to be offended. Doesn't mean yo have to agree with them. Doesn't mean you have to accept their position as right, or even valid. Your position is your own, and theirs isn't. You only have control over what you post and do, not how other people will respond to it.

Just let it die.

I don't care if you don't want to hear my reaction.
Feel free to skip this post.
Not meant aggressively, just don't read my take if it doesn't matter to you.

See Glatt. The WTF NSFW thread grew out of the WTF thread. My eyes and my stomach have been offended over the years, but like 99.9% of Dwellars I have not PM'd anyone about it. That ONE person did - and I totally uphold their right to do so - should be your key to realising you did not overstep the boundaries of most Dwellars.

Question #2: Is there a type of content that is generally unacceptable for the "WTF? NSFW Thread"?
The Cellar decides, as individuals. I did not like the dead children picture. I aired my views (which I don't think were directed at the poster, but at a specific viewpoint). This is not a democracy but it pretty much acts like one. Every single person is allowed an opinion. If enough people complain, most Dwellars will adjust their own posting style accordingly.

Question #3: In your opinion have I done something dastardly?
No. WTF? Is this really about ONE person PMing you? I once had a PM about something I posted. It was gentle advice. I didn't agree with it. I was irritated. But I didn't bring it onto the board. In the end I took the advice, and in hindsight it was right. It might not have been - but at least I thought about it.

That's below you.

HAS ANYONE SAID YOU HAVE? Apart from one person entitled to their own opinion.

Not that funny.

You often make me laugh Grav, and I like your posts.
But really - get over it or get on. I've said it to other people in the past and it makes me feel like a bitch, but if you're that aggreived you just become a one trick pony and nothing of the real you comes through in the posts anyway. Everyone loses.

The person I really feel for is the Anon Dwellar who PM'd you, having their personal issues writ large and the whole Cellar given veiled threats. I reckon they'll think twice about voicing an opinion in private again. Maybe you could think on that while you're accusing people of supression.
