Internet and 9/11

Do you think anyone cared?

No kidding. "Hey, 3,000 people died today... but at least I can get to Slashdot."

More like "A bunch of people died today, and Slashdot is the only place I can get news right now."

I think a lot of folks were already at work by the time the attacks happened, and can't watch TV or listen to radio at work....especially in a steel-frame building, broadcast radio may not penetrate very far into the interior.

For the time, it was a tad above average. Numbers went up a few days later as there was some attention given to the IotD threads with the images from around the world.

Overall we have grown and we're posting at more than double the rate we did back then.
