Just Bought a New Car....

Went out for a bad-weather exercise walk round the mall with my friend, came back with a yellow Mini Cooper.

Like you do.

Well she did anyway. We were sitting in a diner having breakfast after exercising when her other half called to say he's arranged a test drive for her.

She took me along for the ride, when we got to the dealership, he said her husband had had him draw up all the purchasing paperwork. Her face was awesome. It's one year after her cancer diagnosis, she'd said this what she wanted to do if she got through it, jokingly sent him a link to this car last night....

She liked it. Went for the vanity plates to top it off. She had a few ideas on a theme but -to my mind freudianly -but according to her accidentally- wrote KNTGRRL as her first option. I -of course- snorted aloud and said you can't have that! The dealer snorted too when he saw it. She swears he didn't, but I know he did*. She said why not, so I filled in the missing vowel.... and it was soon scribbled out.

But to me that happy sunny little bumblebee car will always be called kuntgirl

So, that was the unexpected happy in my day that will continue to make me smile for years to come, I've no doubt

*(She was all "you're just s filthy brit, there's no way he got that" I said "He's a twenty-something car dealer with an award for internet sales and plenty of downtime, of course he got it, cock". Or words to that effect. )

I've always wanted a Mini Cooper so it always make me happy to hear someone getting one. At first, I thought you (Monster) got one, but I'm just as happy for your friend.

Cool! I rode in a friend's mini cooper once--it was surprisingly spacious inside. Not actually spacious, but surprisingly moreso than I'd thought it would be, at least.

Um, no. I posted the thread because I was happy and wanted to share, no other motive. Stop peeing on my happy tree.
