CRASH!!!

Our Mac crashed! What's the chances of recovering all the information on the HD? (do they even have a HD)

I don't know much about Mac's, so I'd appreciate any advice you might have. We plan to take it to the shop tomorrow, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has any pearls of wisdom for me.

Aliantha,

All your data can be recovered unless your hard drive completely crashed .

Thanks Mitch. We've actually been able to ascertain that the files are all where they should be, so we're thinking it's a software problem, probably in the operating system. The plan now is to dump everything onto a USB stick and then reformat the operating system. Hopefully this should save us some money and time. Once again, thanks very much for your help.
