Not to be too sexist, but I for one am glad that our imperial brethren have at least one politician who's a total babe.

Flattery will get you everywhere... :P

Actually, just to be a little serious: I don't think I'm anywhere near as political as I used to be on here. I don't get into nearly the same number of politically charged firefights and flamewars.

Slacker!

Ok, I admit that I've slowed down too. Arguing with someone like UG is definitely pointless. In a way he's his own straw man (if he only had a brain). I do it for my own amusement and to sharpen my own arguments more than anything else.

Since the title of the thread is DANA! Quit Being So Political! and not Quit Being So Political, DANA!, it's PC here.

'Babes in Politics' provokes a frisson of fear, with our legacy of 'Blairs Babes' of the 90's. And here we jolly well go again into another election where it seems the babes might be our candidates wives, and Samantha Cameron has scored - she's pregnant! Nice bit of planning from our Dave's camp, makes yer eyes water... Oh Hi guys, clean bill of health, fuck cancer!! :-D

You'll need considerable additional sharpening to cut into me, Rich. You're not stupid, but... values? Independence of mind? Good sense?

There are people who score lower on these, but there are also people who score better. I'd say my high intelligence is demonstrable in how I disagree with such silly things as may satisfy you as wisdom. Not too different, really, from what goes on between me and Redux: bright kid, but he can not rationally explain why the Democratic Party is his be-all and end-all. I can explain why I will have nothing to do with them any more, and how little they have resonated with me since about 1990. I haven't yet gone looking for his rationalization for the creation of a dependent class in America. It might be there by now...

If I have already sought and found that which is the greatest or at least greater wisdom, why should I ever accept the lesser? I'm an adult. Come on. Yet those to the left of me ask me to accept their lesser wisdoms, received wisdom or self-generated, all the time. No, ladies and gentlemen; I know a better way, a freer way, a more grown up way, a richer way, and I'll tell you about it. It's amazing how you turn your back on these overwhelming advantages.
