Career Track Flow Chart

I find it amusing, simply because it's so dang close to the truth!

And yes, I'm a geek, and darn proud of it.

I get the impression there won't be 2nd and 3rd generation techies.

There are several ways new techies are produced:

1) Successful ex-techie managers. Note they aren't on the chart. They breed like normal managers, but their offspring may be techies. That's where I come from

2) Dangers to the public. As everyone who has seen a biker babe movie knows, women find dangerous men irresistably attractive.

3) The rare female techies. Female techies can always breed (possibly producing more techies), particularly if they are willing to lower their standards.

4) Sports. Sometimes an ordinary couple will produce a techie. This is usually cause for much wailing and crying and it often breaks up marriages.

5) Hidden techie. Expression of the techie traits is affected by the environment, so the techie genes may be carried for generations without expression, and then suddenly a techie may appear. Superficially similar to 4), but then one of the parents will remember old grand-dad who used to tinker with those radios and such.
