okay, I need more help

Not too surprising, is it?

This time, I need help in my (fruitless) search for a nice screensaver for my Mandrake 9 (KDE) desktop.

I checked Tucows and they don't seem to have anything for me. I don't want to create my own, thankyouverymuch. What I really want is a nice, semi-realistic aquarium with colorful fishies. This isn't too much to ask, is it? So why do I find little or nothing when I Google "Linux screen savers"? Am I not getting it or what?

Or is this the Global Conspiracy stepping in to deprive the world's linux users of pretty desktop screensavers?

Even Dagney, the Queen of Google, cannot find what I want. So I now turn to you, my friends who know infinitely more than I do about this environment, for help.

Please don't let me down!

BRian

Freshmeat.net is usually the best place to look for Linux programs. Check out these links:

Doesn't Mandrake include Xscreensaver?

Yes, Mandrake includes Xscreensaver...I just want an aquarium, not a fade from pic to pic thing.

Xscreensaver isn't a slideshow, it's a huge collection of screensavers, some of them with a high Aquarium Quotient.

You can configure it to select from only the ones you like.

Which is fortunate because I used to have a coronary everytime it picked the "Random crash screen (BSOD/Kernel Panic/Unhappy Mac etc.)" module.
