Okay, so I got one of those reminder emails in my inbox tonight ... just letting me know that something I'd asked them to let me know when it was available is available for preorder.

So, I preorder the DVDs for Rescue Me: Season One.

I preorder a lot of stuff from amazon. It's convenient, I'm impatient, and hey, I'm going to be getting Harry Potter 6 by Fedex on the morning of release. Whoo hoo.

But that's not the cool new thing. I make my purchase, see, and I get an extra pop-up ... something about my Digital Locker.

Amazon is now supplying exclusive multimedia content along with your purchase ... I mean how cool is that? It's not much, honestly. The Rescue Me add on was a behind the scenes video, interviews with a couple of the stars and a bit from the gag reel. Nice little bonus.

I think some of the added content includes stuff like extra tracks or a full audio stream for CDs you buy and so on.

Welcome to the next wave of marketing.
