Who's fat?

The fattest cities in America have been ranked again by Men's Fitness magazine.

Our beloved city of Philadelphia has dropped to 4th, down from 3rd last year. Houston again took honors as the fattest city. Perhaps our residents switched from beef steak to chicken steak, and went light on the salt on soft pretzels.

My beloved home of St. Louis went from unranked to #9. Now THAT is strange...all that good Italian food from the Hill, and of course, Ted Drewes concretes.

I do take issue with these folks on one thing in particular. They state that we have 63 city parks, saying that we're only above Baltimore in terms of parks per capita. I looked at the way they rated this (the parks/open space factor), and I don't agree with it. I mean, hello! We have three huge parks that take up a substantial amount of space (Fairmount, Cobbs Creek, and Pennypack). Ah, but it's just a survey in the end.

They also rank the fittest cities as well. Colo Spgs., CO is the fittest city. San Diego, last year's fittest city, slid to 3rd fittest.
