I'm back
Not, I'm sure, that you noticed my absence. Me & the wife & rugrats spent a week up in the Poconos, where it is CONSIDERABLY less humid than it is here in the Philly area.
Nothing much of interest to report on--we spent most of the free time (i.e. that not spent sleeping or eating) swimming or at one of the resort's playgrounds, with a coupleexcursions to tourist traps. I also read a lot*, and except for the resort's arcade, it was a blessed break from all telephones, computers, TVs, etc. etc. (There was not even any cell phone coverage.)
I doubt I'll catch up all the threads from the past week. But you never know.
*(2 new entries--The Risen Empire by Scott Westerfeld [recommended] and Saturn by Ben Bova [borderline recommendation]--as well as revisiting 3 old favorites--Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles and Dick's The Gameplayers of Titan and Flow My Tears the Policeman Said.)
