				 | Bandwidth help needed i think

Hey guys, It is a bonus that i come across this part of the forum and i am hoping you guys can help me out. I live in a shared house with three other people. We have Wifi in the house and it's on my bill because i chose to get it installed. Anyway of course i let my frineds use it but they take it too far downloading movies and games all the time and when i come to want to use it, it is the slowest connection i have veer experienced. What i was hoping is that there is some way to get more Wifi to my computer? Is there anyway i could increase the bandwidth or decrease theirs so there is a set limit? If you could give me an answer to this guys it would make my life so much more pleasant. any advice or information will me taken in and valued!! Looking forward to speaking with you all!! Thanks |

Changing the channel won't really do much. Unless the router has parental controls, you'd almost need another computer and another wireless access point to limit bandwidth...

Long before solving a problem, first the problem must be defined. That means numbers. You do not even state what speeds exist on your current wifi. Why do you ignore what is probably slower - the internet access speed? I do not see anything that would blame wifi. Long before fixing anything, first use tools such as diagnostics and status reports to learn what problem really exists. As with all problems - technological, social, political, economic, and military - the problem must be defined with perspective (numbers) long before considering solutions. |

@tw You're registering a 7.7 on the annoying wanker meter. Let's try to keep in below 5 going forward. Kthxbai Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk

Not posting stinking huge and unnecessary images on forums might help?

Only those who want to be told how to think get annoyed. Intelligent (and therefore not emotional) people learn from those who did this stuff. Your best reply is kept in your pants; not all over the internet. Stashedaway - you should have plenty of questions. Don't let the riff-raff discourage you. |
