Last Minute Invite

I think you can all get airline tickets on short notice. Don't call me for rides from the airport. Music party at my place tomorrow evening. Anyone who needs to stay over can. Seriously. Details follow:

Patrick and Selene would like to invite you to the first (and
hopefully annual) July Music Party at their Raytown home on Saturday,
July 7, 2007.

The gathering will begin at 6:00 PM and run until the police show up,
probably around Midnight (well, that is when we will need to shut
down the PA - but those who wish to stay and play will be welcome
until we all pass out). This event will be BYOB, but coolers and ice
will be provided. Participants wishing to offset the effects of
alcohol may also wish to bring a covered dish or snack to put out for
the benefit of all. Burgers and dogs will probably be kicking around
somewhere as well to form a sort of central gustatory nexus to the
other stuff people bring.

We know so many wonderful musicians, and we would very much like to
have as many of them in one place as we can possibly manage. This
means *anyone* with an instrument or instruments should plan to
attend and share their performances with the rest of us. Drums,
guitars, whistles, fiddles, flutes, tubas, jews harps, spoons, giant
modular synthesizers...whatever...we want you to come and play! Got
a duet? Trio? Orchestra? Come show off! This event will be
marginally organized and completely at the will of its participants.
This means that, without you, nothing will happen.

We will be renting the HSA PA, and anyone who wishes to donate toward
that will be blessed. Any amount that we collect over the required
rental price will be donated to HSA. This means that everyone can be
heard.

We have inside space available, so this event will go on rain or
shine, so make your plans now to join us. Remember...it doesn't
matter if you are a pro or a rank amateur - or anything in between.
This is a party about the music and about sharing with your friends,
so please...won't you join us?

You say that you don't play, but are intrigued by people who do?
Then *you* come and join us too! Music is magic, and an appreciative
audience is always more than welcome.

As always, children are welcome, but as the evening wears on and
people become more friendly and/or intoxicated, parents will have to
make their own judgements as to when they should wrap up the kiddies
and take them home. Also, there is plenty of room for tent camping if
those of you from out of town would like to pitch a tent in our
backyard somewhere.
