I thought for sure that it would have died down today, but it's getting worse.

Over 1,400 guests? damn.

I’m playin' I asked others and they had the same problem.

I just hooked up my new PC yesterday and it was still funky. At times I had problems getting on sites because of my ancient PC.

the PC rocks!!

I disabled the check that sets up that message, but it will remain to be seen whether performance is better with or without it.

Every day I've made administrative performance improvements to the system... if the demand remains this high tomorrow, I will go down and add more memory to it, which should improve things another tick.

If it doesn't improve after that I could move the database to the other machine...

We are down to something like 750 guests now, and the Cellar seems to be doing just fine. For me, anyway.

You've certainly earned your wings in that department after all the abuse you've taken so far.

Is it still IOTD that is thronging them in?

Talking

Is karma nullified when one appreciates it's function?

What is the proper emotional response when three fold laws come into play?

Vindication is wrong but Absolution is sweet so slow moving cellars are tolerable I guess.

All current traffic is for that same IotD - and it's all secondary little sites that saw it and now point to it. There must be hundreds of them.

The Cellar's page rank is going to go through the roof.

I rebooted a few minutes ago and this made things snappier. I think this will settle down.

Good lord, check the number of views on the thread: 215,209

Typical number of thread views is more like 1500 for something that's been around a week. Thread views aren't incremented when someone reads an IotD via the blogview.
