The Reader was an Oprah Book.
momwolf decided she wanted it.
Outside of cookbooks, momwolf is not a terribly big reader. At least not a reader of linear stories. She's more of a browser than a reader. Wanders around a book, dipping into bits and pieces. I really need to get her books made of assemblages of little pieces, like the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, only with more content. She did like
Do as I Say, Not as I Do.
So, anyway, she read The Reader and was unimpressed.
I read The Reader and was also unimpressed, but it was long enough ago that I don't remember all of the details. Probably got weirded out by the age disparity between the characters and the situation and all that.
I remember not liking it much.
I finished #11 The Grim Grotto - Lemony Snicket.
I need to get to the library for the rest of them, but I'll probably wait until after my conference.
Just started Another Life - Andrew Vachss.
Talk about contrast from what one last read ...
