After dinner (noon) at my grandmothers, my uncles and older cousins would all pull out their pocket knives to cut the scotch tape on gifts. If someone' knife wasn't sharp enough and accidently tore the paper, they would be the butt of jokes on Easter, the 4th of July, and the following Thanksgiving.
