Ear-Bending Cellmate: ...and when there was no meat, we pounded fowl and when there was no fowl, we pounded crawdad and when there was no crawdad to be found, we pounded sand.
H.I.: You pounded what?
Ear-Bending Cellmate: We pounded sand.
[pause]
H.I.: You pounded SAND?
Ear-Bending Cellmate: That's right!
