Meet the cat with the owl face, or the Scottish Fold cat.
Instead of the perky, upright ears, the ear cartilage in this breed folds foward. Don't worry - they still hear just fine.
Susie, the first, was born and discovered in 1961, in Scotland. She had two kittens with the forward folding ears. One of the kittens was purchased for breeding.
The Scottish Fold cat is bred with a normal domestic cat to avoid genetic in-breeding. About 50% of the kittens are born with forward facing ears.
