Nah. our lads had plenty of female company. The american soldiers were somewhat disdainful of our tendency to allow so many 'camp followers' ... and American soldiers therefore had a reputation for being a little scruffy (and manly), as it was the chikas who did the washing and mending of uniforms...meanwhile we had a volteface on the whole women accompanying the army after a couple of notable acts of 'cowardice' provoking a 'gender panic' and leading to a change in how the women were viewed and fears that they were having a feminising effect on the men.
Sorry. That was a serious historical point...back to the comedy:
