...for Saint Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco will baptize you nightly...at least, until last night.

In order to prevent homeless people from sleeping outside of Saint Mary’s Cathedral, the Archdiocese of San Francisco installed a system that dumps water onto the ground near its sheltered doorways, where people tend to rest at night.
On Wednesday, after facing substantial backlash for the deterrent, the archdiocese announced that the system will be removed "by the end of the day."
Having been raised Catholic, this situation bothers me on two levels.
While we know how hypocritical the Church can be, we know what the Church has taught us. And there are some great Catholic charities out there.
The other thing is that we have a pope that is as close as we've had to an example of true Christianity in forever. And you have servants still unwilling to follow his lead.
