I know, the drugstore too. But like I said, they used to sell that shit everywhere so I figured I could grab some at the supermaket.
I didn't realize they changed their marketing strategy with the push for geriatric hearts.

Until recently Eli Lilly had the market cornered after congress passed a law that made importing it illegal, and the price has been going up 10% a year.
A huge chunk of the market is paid for by Medicare, and congress passed a law that Medicare, the largest buyer of drugs in the world, is not allowed to negotiate prices.

Last year my insurance demanded I change brands of insulin. Doc said it's the same shit so I got some from Novo Nordisk a Scandinavian company. I thought they must have changed the import law but when I had trouble with a pen I contacted them and the woman told me they had spent over a Billion dollars building a plant in the Carolinas. It's about $100 a month wholesale less than Lilly. Now all that SS money is fleeing the country.
