Before his '86 attempt, Boyd Davis of EMF Distributors expressed his belief that splitting a playing card in flight would be impossible for someone to do. To the delight of the spectators, Munden told Davis that not only could he do it, but that he could do it with Davis's gun. Boyd Davis is one of the creators of the fun End of Trail, cowboy-action shooting's world championship and EMF is one of the primary sponsors. Munden borrowed Davis's gun, a .45 Dakota single-action with a 4-3/4" barrel. On the fourth try he split the card -- an ace of hearts. This has to be one of the greatest exhibition shots ever done and is included in his videos.
