Yes, it implies a whole slew of beliefs and thoughts not just of Malvoe's, but also of the society he lives in.

Doesn't that sound like nonsense?

skin color is important because people have fixated on it as something that seperates groups.

Then again, racists such as the KKK don't harass people because of eye color, so the fact is that skin has a profound effect on a person's opportunities and aspirations.

Should that have to be the case?
