I've been sleeping really badly since I stopped drinking. I mean only about an hour at a time, and then not until gone 02.00, although I'm up at about 09.00-09.30. This has been exacerbated by the fact I've had bad catarrh and sinus problems (I have no voice when I wake up at present).

Anyway, all this has led to shallow sleep and memorable dreams again.

Last night I dreamed that LJ, Jinx and Bri had come to visit me in Aylesbury.
For some reason they had only come for a couple of hours, then were driving back to Manchester to get a plane home. So I was trying to show them as much of Aylesbury as I could, then put them on the right road back.

Oddly, Aylesbury was much bigger, making it more time consuming to view. We had an Abbey, a Cathedral and a choral school. The Abbey grounds were famous, extensive and well worth spending a lot of time in, but I just had to show them the entrance. Also, I noticed the entrance fee was £50, so I was secretly relived we didn't have time to go in.

Jinx was driving, and as we drove round, LJ breathed on the back passenger window and wrote "Jinx's Taxi Service" back to front, so people outside could see it. He left it there as well, which I knew meant that in future, every time the window misted up it would appear.

I was annoyed with him because Jinx really wasn't very well. I was trying to keep everything as brief as possible because I knew she had a long drive ahead of her even after we had finished sightseeing. I do remember at one point though, showing everyone round an old close of houses, which oddly had all their garden furniture and kids' toys in front of the houses - not in a messy way, but as if they were the private back gardens. Jinx and Bri were jumping on people's trampolines and I was worried that someone would come out and have a go - it was a very swish neighbourhood - old money.

We went back to my flat, which I was really looking forward to showing people from the Cellar. It was only really when I left the three Dwellars in my bedroom that I realised it wasn't all that great. The paint was peeling, the carpets were stained and the whole place smelled of damp. As well as everything being in the wrong place and stuff just left untidily about (there was a clothes drier in the hall which had obviously been there ages, stiff clothes hung all over it).

I went to gte them something to eat and drink before they set off, but there was only one can of Diet Coke left. There was vodka in the fridge though, so I swigged it while I poured out the Diet Coke for them. Then made myself a cup of tea and glugged most of the leftover vodka into that. I took the Coke upstairs and handed it round, embarrassed to see by then that the individual glasses were really no bigger than shot glasses. And a two finger KitKat between them. Hmmmm, not a great success.

After that time gets a bit confused. I had to ask them to be quiet because my Mum was in the other room with my borther (a baby, as evidenced by the smell of poopy nappies) and I wasn't supposed to have guests. Then it was morning and I'd fallen asleep in the spare room and Mum was telling me off for not bothering to make up the beds for my guests and because she'd been looking after Jinx who had been sick all night.

That was the end of that dream.
There was another involving a letter to my Mum from someone called Elizabeth Lloyd who was a debt collector. She seemed to have full access to both my bank account and to Bruce's log-in here and on a porn site (and was able to tell when he was online and contacting me). She apologised for upsetting my Mum, but wanted her to know the truth, that Bruce hadn't paid me enough money AND he was contacting other women and that I was being dishonest and sinful. Not sure where it was all connected, but after that I climbed a mountain with the letter in my hand and the dream changed.

I was pleased to wake up from the final dream and see it was time to get up - it was a horrible one, but featured no Dwellars.
