I was gonna comment on that before you edited-to-add, but then I had to go to class - but yeah, I think I'd call freeze-distilled beer close enough to beer to let 'em. Like, if you really wanna call applejack an ~80-proof cider... well, all they did was take water out via ice, I'll let it slide even if you're kinda bending the definition a bit.
Plus, is there a different word for beer that's been frozen to increase its alcohol content, other than beer, like applejack is to cider?
